O.V.P = Oscillation Vibration et Pulsation, by Joachim Garraud
OVP is a psycho-acoustic project, featuring music, sound-design and sound mathematics and physics. In a super-connected World, where music is consumed for free, the artistic creation has suffered a lot lately, and musical projects have become extremely formatted to please the masses. Internet now dominates the music business. Risks have become non-existent, and most projects cruelly lack of surprises.
OVP is a unique musical patchwork. It is a purity inside the recording process that triggers new sensations through unique sounds coming out from newly designed instruments with a 432 Hz tuning.
For this project, Joachim Garraud, a real digital luthier, has been developing for the last 26 months some new virtual instruments in order to explore a whole new world of sonic textures. In a fragmented world where the listener’s availability has become extremely rare and precious, Joachim has chosen to go against the installed music industry formats, with a 39 minutes and 39 seconds musical piece. This piece, mostly inspired by the works of artists such as Karlheinz Stockhausen, Pierre Henry, Pierre Schaeffer or Steve Reich, features a whole suite of different sounds, vibrations, pulsations, and oscillations.
